Local Torontonian design celebrity Katherine Newman exports her talent to NYC’s Upper East Side to design the posh Carlton House conversion, formerly the Helmsley Carlton.
This Extell development will have 68 premier residences ranging in price from $2.9M to $65M and is slated for occupancy in the summer of 2014.
Perfectly set along Madison Avenue and 61st street, this $350 million dollar conversion is surrounded by the most exclusive shopping and dining destinations in the world: Barneys, Armani, Hermes, Bilboquet, Nello, Philippe…to name a few.
Blending into the neighborhood, renowned architectural firm Beyer Blinder Belle has preserved and restored the 1950-era limestone and brick building to its original appearance, while adding new exterior elements to give it a more modern design.
Here Katherine Newman has reinterpreted the interiors with Art Deco and Moderne aesthetics with the use of pale and mink color palettes, lacquer cabinetry, paneling, exotic woods, polished marbles and the result is elegant and timeless.
The Carlton house offers personal service on a 24-hour basis with the support of uniformed doormen and concierge as well as a lifestyle consultant on hand to assist residents with reservations, travel and event planning.
Amenities will include a 65-ft heated indoor pool, state –of-the-art fitness center and game room.
We look forward to seeing this new landmark once completed.
